“We are selecting partners one by one to understand that user experience is more important than margins.” These are statements by Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme, the new brand of the BBK Electronics group (Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus) that this summer has arrived in Spain . These days we have been able to try the new Realme X2, a striking mid-range mobile with four cameras, Snapdragon 730G, 8GB of RAM and a large 4,000 mAh battery with fast charging .

We did not want to wait for the analysis to tell you what we thought about this new Realme X2, a device that has transmitted us some very good first impressions. This, together with an aggressive pricing strategy is what leads us to think that we are facing a serious rival of Xiaomi in terms of quality / price within the mid-range .

A glazed design with an AMOLED screen that looks familiar

During this year we have seen a lot of mobiles with this design, but if manufacturers continue to bet on it we imagine that it will be because users are happy. We have a glass back protected with Gorilla Glass 5. In our case the test unit was white, with multiple vertical reflections that give it a bluish tone .

The construction is quite clean, with the fingerprint reader integrated in the screen and only the Realme logo placed on the bottom left. All the attention goes to that quadruple camera placed completely upright . The cameras protrude slightly, which makes the mobile dance when placed up. Fortunately, it is surrounded by a small metal edge that, in the absence of trying it for longer, we believe it can be useful to protect the lenses.

The main 64 megapixel sensor has a different color, with two small yellow lines . The flash is the only camera element located outside the protective ring, with a small screen print of “AI Camera” and four circles representing the four Realme cameras.

The Realme X2 is right in design with a balance between striking appearance, thickness and moderate weight for the added battery and good grip.

The edges are metallic and slightly rounded. On the right side we have the on / off and on the left the volume, next to the dual SIM slot plus microSD . For those looking for a terminal with dual SIM and also want to expand storage, Realme X2 is presented as a good candidate. At the bottom we have the speakers, the USB Type-C port, the 3.5mm minijack and a microphone, with another one on the top.

The construction of the device has seemed good to us, it is relatively slippery and, at least in the white unit, the fingerprints are concealed quite well. Yes we would have liked to find a more curved 2.5D glass so that the separation between the panel and the side edge was more continuous . Something that does not happen, since the Realme X2 has several lateral levels.

Life took me down another path and now I am a Communicator who has worked for Nokia, and Motorola. Where now instead of drawing, I take pictures, and instead of talking about my passion.
