The Surface family proposed a twist on tablets from the beginning by converting them into convertible devices into laptops. In July 2018 Microsoft introduced its most affordable variant of the concept, the Surface Go .
That model was somewhat modest in performance, but now leaked benchmarks have discovered the product that aims to be the Surface Go 2 , the successor to that model that is expected to arrive in the second half of 2020 and do so with renewed specifications.
More power, but also more efficiency
That 10-inch convertible tablet was not particularly powerful, but it offered an interesting option to compete above all with some “basic” iPads that had not seen too many competitors in that market niche.
Still this model has not aged too well. Its basic version, with 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of capacity (via eMMC) and a 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y processor did not give much leeway , but that could change in that hypothetical successor whose tests performance have been filtered.
